Resolution
Each product page shows the minimum pixel size your file needs at the size you choose. The number changes with size, because a banner read from across a parking lot needs far less detail than a photo print you hold in your hand.
We print at this resolution, based on the longest side:
- Up to 24 in: 300 DPI
- Up to 60 in: 150 DPI
- Up to 120 in: 100 DPI
- Over 120 in: 72 DPI
If you plan to crop your image, start with more pixels than the minimum. Cropping removes pixels.
If your file is too small for the size you chose, we warn you before you order. You can still go ahead, but the print may look soft or blocky.
File types
Upload a JPG, PNG or SVG file from 10 KB to 60 MB. For logos and text, SVG is best because it stays sharp at any size.
Bleed and safe area
We add the bleed for you, so your design can run right to the edge. Trimming can shift slightly on every job, so keep text and anything else you can’t lose inside the safe area:
- Up to 24 in on the longest side: 0.25 in from each edge
- Up to 60 in: 0.5 in from each edge
- Over 60 in: 2 in from each edge, because large prints are hemmed or finished by hand
Color
Screens give off light and print reflects it, so colors shift slightly between the two. Deep blues and bright oranges shift the most.
